A Better Future Starts Today

I recognize Vancouver-Granville as sÉ™lilÌ“ilwÌ“É™taʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m and (Musqueam) territory. I am committed to seeing their territory, including lands and waters, returned or compensated for.

Truth

"For too long we have been taught myths about Canada that reinforce many of the systemic inequities we have come to live with. It's time for our government to start inviting grassroots organizers, qualified professionals, and people with lived experience to the decision making table. As your Member of Parliament, I promise to always work with communities and speak truth to power."

Indigenous Relations

"Indigenous peoples have never been prioritized by the Canadian government. It's time for the voices of Indigenous communities to be centred, heard, and acted upon. I am determined to engage meaningfully with the Indigenous peoples residing in Vancouver-Granville, and aspire to become an effective ally to ensure the needs of all Indigenous peoples in Canada are being met."

Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion

"It's clear that the residents of Burnaby North-Seymour stand in firm opposition to the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion project. I pledge to work with Indigenous peoples and environmentalists on an ongoing basis to ensure creative solutions to climate change are being championed and advocated for from right here in Burnaby North-Seymour. We must end our dependence on fossil fuels for the sake of future generations."

Life Made Better

British Columbians continue to experience firsthand, every day, the devastating effects of the lack of affordable housing, the opioid epidemic, homelessness, income inequality, the lack of affordable childcare, and climate change. Together we can find solutions to these problems and make life better for
British Columbians and all Canadians.
Building a House

Canadians are in the midst of an affordable housing crisis. Residents of Vancouver-Granville have learned first hand how a lack of affordable housing can have devastating consequences. Young people are being forced to leave the communities they grew up in, businesses are struggling to find local employees, and homelessness is on the rise. As your Member of Parliament I will work hard to promote the creation of more affordable housing throughout our community.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Female Pharmacist

Canadians have witnessed first hand just how vulnerable our current healthcare system is. Decades of austerity have led to huge wait times, increased out-of-pocket expenses, exorbitantly high medication costs, and the proliferation of private healthcare. It's time Canadians had a government that cared about their well being and worked towards funding expanded healthcare, universal pharmacare and dental care, and improved publicly run long-term senior care.

EXPANDED HEALTH CARE

Cashier

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Canadians have learned the essential nature of work that so many have taken for granted. Workers across the country deserve to earn enough money to make a living and save for the future. Canadians deserve to thrive, not just survive. As your Member of Parliament I hope to advocate alongside my NDP colleagues to ensure that all workers earn an income that can sustain a dignified life.

UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME

Climate Change 2.jpg

The climate crisis is one of the biggest challenges facing Canadians. Our government has claimed to be a climate leader, but in reality Canada’s emissions have not decreased significantly for more than two decades. As your Member of Parliament, I will fight for a rapid and just transition away from fossil fuels. We need to stop building new fossil fuel infrastructure, meet our climate targets and ensure that workers in the industry are not left behind.

JUSTICE

Pharmacists

In 2020, more people in British Columbia died as a result of a toxic drug supply than the COVID-19 pandemic. We need to see a similar level of emergency response from our government with health professionals and drug users at the table. As your MP I will work to decriminalize drug users and ensure access to a safe supply, as health professionals have recommended. I will also work to remedy the root causes of this crisis including homelessness, colonization, and lack of access to mental health support.

Kids in Preschool

Canadians are learning in real-time the essential nature and value of quality, affordable childcare. Our economy cannot function without proper childcare and our society depends on robust early childhood education to flourish. I am determined to advocate for $10-a-day childcare and to work with leaders in the field to get early childhood education implemented across the country.
